Strip the overlap and what the $99.99 buys is the rides: 19 slides, the cliff jumps at Cliffside Cove and the Wandering River, plus the towels, lockers and tram that get you to them. Chairs, shade and lunch were never the value. Those were already yours on the beach.

That is a clean decision rather than a complaint. If your group will spend five hours going down slides, $99.99 a head is a normal water park ticket and the day is worth it. If one person in the party is a slide person and the other three want a beach chair and a burger, you buy one pass and the rest of the day costs nothing.

The one thing the pass does not change is your drinks

Here is where the pass surprises people. It does not include a drink.

It also means the island day is the day the Free at Sea math is easiest to clear. Against a $28.50 daily charge, two drinks ordered at the $15 retail ceiling covers it, and cheaper pours push that count up in proportion. A long afternoon at a swim-up bar gets there without anyone trying. A sea day spent asleep on a lounger does not.

Because admission is bundled, the honest way to price a cabana is to subtract the passes you would have bought anyway and look at what is left.

The cabana never comes out cheaper than buying passes, since six passes cost $599.94 against a $999 floor. What changes is how thin the premium gets. At four guests you are paying roughly $150 a head for shade and bar service in a park that hands out umbrellas for free. At six you are paying $66.51, which is a defensible number for a home base with somewhere to leave your things.

There is no clean tipping point here, which is the honest answer. Even at five you are still adding the price of a whole extra pass per head. It is only at six that the premium drops to something I would call reasonable, so unless you are filling it, buy passes.

Price it as a group, not as a ticket. A solo slide fan pays $99.99 and gets a good day. A family of four pays $399.96 and has spent more than a week of Free at Sea for two, on one afternoon, before a single excursion.
